The genre that  have chosen to make a music video on is hip hop. To gain knowledge and understanding of how hip hop music videos are created, I must research how other top tier hip hop artists have conducted their music videos. For example, I must pay close attention to aspects such as body language, clothing, rhythm and the amount of lip syncing used. Firstly, I noticed that on 50 Cent's 'In Da Club' music video that the music company is listed ( Shady Aftermath). This gives me and my partner the idea that we need to create a name for a music company and include it in the start of our music video. Hybrid music videos involve a combination of 3 different types of music video media. This combination involves concept, narrative and performance. The reason that hybrid music videos have become so popular is because they provide a variety of elements within the video. Previously, music videos just contained performances or told a story line, but now, hybrid videos give you everything. The example which I have chosen which best demonstrates a hybrid music video is Kelly Clarkson's 'Since U Been Gone'. The reason that I picked this music video is because of it's combination of narrative and performance. Firstly, the lyrics say 'Here's the thing, we started off friends', a picture of Kelly holding the friendship bracelet appears on the screen. Filming Locations For Gangsta's Paradise

For our Gansgta's Paradise music video, I think that the locations that I could use are relatively local. In my opinion, small and well hidden areas work best to accompany the lyrics of this song simply because it is a very solemn song with a lot of meanings behind the lyrics. Often, you will find that the lyrics being used in this song are talking about death and crime, so we also need naturally dark area, maybe just using lamppost for a source of lighting. As you can see from this entry, there are trees and bushes overshadowing it, so it would provide a good level of darkness for us. Although, because it will be very dark if we film at night, we would need some form of natural lighting. Overall, this location could be very convenient for filming some parts of our music video, because it is on my road, and my partner lives a 15 minute walk away from this location.
